Detailed Group Information
INCREDIBLE FLEXIBLE YOU! This group helps 5 - 8 year olds learn to think in social terms about what behaviors may be expected and unexpected in different social contexts: at home, at school, and out in the world. We explore concepts such as stuck vs. flexible thinking (waking up, basic household responsibilities, following a group plan at school, and knowing when we are stuck and need to flex! By learning about these concepts and increasing awareness so we know when we are stuck, we can help build new strategies for responding to directives in more prosocial ways. 8 weeks.
IN THE ZONE: This group is designed to help young children (ages 4–7) better understand and express their full range of emotions—especially those big feelings that can sometimes feel overwhelming or hard to manage. Using a color-coded framework inspired by the Zones of Regulation curriculum, children learn to recognize what different feelings feel like in their bodies and how to name them with greater confidence. Through playful, age-appropriate activities, stories, and guided discussions, we build emotional awareness while exploring simple, calming strategies that promote self-regulation and pro-social behavior. The goal is to support each child in developing tools to pause, notice what they're feeling, and respond in ways that help them feel more grounded, connected, and in control.
IN THE ZONE, 8-10: This group is designed for children ages 8–10 who are learning to navigate a broader range of emotions, manage growing responsibilities, and handle more complex social dynamics. Expanding beyond the Zones of Regulation, participants will deepen their understanding of emotions by identifying how feelings show up in their bodies, recognizing emotional patterns, and learning how to respond in ways that support focus, calm, and positive interactions. Through interactive activities, reflective discussions, and practical tools, kids will explore how to manage "big feelings," build resilience, and strengthen their ability to stay grounded and connected—even during stressful or challenging moments. The group encourages self-awareness, emotional vocabulary, and peer connection—all essential skills for thriving at home, in school, and in friendships.
MIGHTY WISE MINDSETS: This small group is designed to help kids build a positive mindset, develop perseverance, and learn how to navigate challenges with confidence. Through interactive activities and guided discussions, participants will explore how their thoughts influence their actions, practice strategies for staying motivated when things get tough, and strengthen their problem-solving and resilience skills. Ideal for students looking to boost their social confidence and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
FRIENDSHIP SOCIAL GROUP: This group is designed for children ages 8–10 who are looking to strengthen their social skills, build lasting friendships, and grow more confident in their interactions with peers. Through fun, structured activities, role-playing, games, and group discussions, participants will explore important social-emotional skills such as:
Finding your people
Starting and maintaining conversations
Reading social cues and body language
Handling conflict and misunderstandings
Practicing empathy and perspective-taking
Navigating peer pressure and group dynamics
The group provides a supportive environment where kids can safely practice these skills, receive gentle coaching, and build positive connections with others their age. Whether your child is shy, struggling with peer relationships, or just looking to boost their confidence in social situations, this group helps lay the foundation for more meaningful and successful friendships—both in and out of the classroom.
GROUNDED! Executive Functioning Group: The tween and teen years come with increased expectations—more homework, shifting schedules, and greater responsibility. This group is designed to support students in grades 6–9 as they develop the executive functioning skills needed to manage school, life, and everything in between. Through interactive activities, real-life planning tools, and group discussions, students will learn strategies in areas such as:
Time management and scheduling
Task initiation and follow-through
Organization of materials and spaces
Prioritizing and breaking down assignments
Managing distractions and improving focus
Goal-setting and self-monitoring
Participants will be introduced to practical tools (planners, apps, checklists) and walk away with personalized strategies they can apply immediately at school and at home. The group also provides a space to share challenges, receive support, and build confidence in their ability to manage increasing demands. This group is ideal for students who may feel overwhelmed, disorganized, or are looking for more structure and support in staying on top of their responsibilities.
INTERPERSONAL ALLY: Emotional Resilience Group for Pre-Teens and Teens (Grades 6-9)
Feeling anxious around others? Big reactions to seemingly small problems? This supportive group is designed to help pre-teens and teens navigate the complex emotions that arise with increasing social and academic demands. Using evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, participants will learn practical tools for managing intense feelings, improving emotional regulation, and strengthening interpersonal effectiveness. Through interactive lessons, real-life scenarios, and group discussions, students will build resilience, boost self-awareness, and develop healthier ways to cope with stress and challenges. This group offers a safe space to grow, connect, and gain confidence in managing the ups and downs of adolescence.
