About
Shannon C. McGilloway, LMFT #82198
Welcome—I'm glad you're here.
I’m a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. With over 25 years of experience supporting children, teens, young adults, and families across a range of settings—including public, private, and non-public schools, as well as private practice—I bring both professional expertise and real-life perspective to my work.
Since 2014, I’ve been working as a licensed clinician in private practice, helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. As both a therapist and a parent of a teenager, I understand firsthand the complexities families face, particularly amid the fast pace and pressures of Bay Area life.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. Whether you’re looking for a sounding board, a fresh perspective, or effective coping strategies, I’m here to support you in navigating life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and connection—while honoring your unique needs.
In our work together, we’ll focus on what helps you and/or your family thrive—building resilience, reducing stress, and creating more ease at home and in daily life. Come as you are—this is a supportive, nonjudgmental space to grow, reflect, and find practical tools to help you feel more steady, equipped, and grounded.
